The Dream Journal: Flowers and Seeds

The Dream Journal...

I was in a garden plot full of flowers planted in perfect squares. They had come to their full term of growth and I became involved in the harvest of their seeds. The seeds were in the earth, in the roots of the flowers. So I was pulling up the flowers and sorting out the seeds from pieces of broken pottery, soil and stones. My wife was distracting me and attempting to persuade me to go to a previously arranged appointment (or meeting), but I retorted that I would not, complaining that I had lost interest in the affair and I continued to harvest the seeds.

Interpretation...

In interpreting any dream it is best to deal with each particular and major symbol individually first, then link together and read the scenario and message in its entirety and totality. In this dream the most prominent symbols include the square, flowers, seeds and an avoided meeting or appointment. The square indicates stability and security combined with the potential of eventual success. Flowers depend upon their colour, state and type. Generally they indicate an auspicious omen of personal happiness, and warn against acting contrary to principles, and not to be unduly influenced by others. Here I also think they show an end of a period of labour, the harvest of which is due, and project a forthcoming period of creative growth. Seeds are an indication of new experiences through upcoming opportunities. Seeds speak of the 'winds of change' and warn of the dangers of misplaced loyalties. An appointment or meeting in a dream, whether making, breaking, changing, discussing or avoiding is an indication to relinquish any plans that have previously been held, such plans will not work out as expected.

Conclusion…

In its entirety this dream speaks of a period of labour come to an end. So far everything is stable and secure, and all has been successful. Whatever plans that I have committed to on a personal or private or social level should be dropped, and instead I must rely upon the natural development of change to bring future prosperity (not necessarily in financial terms, but health, spirituality and wisdom). The future looks good as long as I do not exert my will or ego in affairs. Such changes that come will be forces of inspiration and creativity. This dream is an omen of manifold blessings.
